In North Korea, detainees are often unfairly held captive. Conditions and punishments in prison camps are harsh and inhumane.
Information about this
North Korean prison system is incredibly brutal.
Criminals are treated like animals in detention facilities, comparable to historical concentration camps.Punishments included getting hit with hands, sticks, leather belts, or running around a yard 1,000 times.Women were sexually assaulted or raped by officers or jailers.
Forced abortions and killing babies upon birth often occur.Three generations were sent to prison camps if a family member committed a “crime”.Public or private executions without a fair trial.
